New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Fair Grounds Race Course, New Orleans, Louisiana

For several years I have attended JazzFest, a wonderful music and cultural heritage festival held within the grounds of a historic horse racing track within an amazing city. While there to enjoy the music, people, and food, after attending several festivals, I became more and more interested in the structures and features that supported the festival operations and visitor experience and as well as those associated with various aspects of horse racing. Unlike most other photographers I came across at JazzFest that were focused on musical performances, artists, stages, and attendees, I was intrigued by the co-mingled collection of mysterious, ambiguous, and mundane festival and racetrack features that defined the temporarily layered landscape.
